statement

the art of film photography has fascinated me since i was a young girl growing up in rural missouri. i briefly studied photography at the savannah college of art and design in the early 1990's, but do not have a degree. today i am a part-time waitress, and full-time aspiring photographer. my preferred genres are documentary and street photography although any image that falls into the interesting category may appear here. only analog cameras are used in my work. post processing is minimal as i strive to get it right in the camera.

your waitress

this is not a portfolio site although one day it would be nice to incorporate a portfolio section into the site. currently, yourwaitress.com is the second version of a photoblog which began in 2004 over here. a book of images from those early days was released in february of 2007. this photoblog has become an ongoing conversation with random overlooked views from berkeley (and now oakland) california and beyond.

new images are posted as they are taken. camera, film, and lens information can be found in the comments link above each image. a quick way to browse through the images is by clicking on them to move to the previous post. a collection of thumbnails for all the images served so far is also available here.
